Healing womb trauma is one of the most deepest things that a woman can do. The womb is the source of creation, not only a portal for new life, but also the centre of our power.
Across centuries of colonisation, women were shamed, oppressed and the sacred feminine was demonised. The issues of the modern world, including abuse and conversions, are all rooted in this pattern of trauma.
Before the advent of modern Abrahamic religion, the indigenous cultures and religions of the world worshipped the sacred feminine: Shakti. We worshipped the rivers, the oceans, the mountains and plants.
Women have naturally heightened intuitive ability; the ability to communicate directly with nature, plants and the spirit world.
In fact, the Church was so scared of this, they burnt thousands of ‘witches' at the stake. Witches were simply medicine women, those who could heal with nature. Plant medicines and entheogens were demonised and twisted from their original meaning as one of the many inversions of the modern world.
Yet on a personal level, to heal womb trauma is an essential task - especially if you have undergone abuse.
Cutting short from my own experiences (which are rather dark), it’s important to note first that abuse happens in all forms, from people of all backgrounds. There is never any excuse for sexual violence, manipulation or emotional abuse. From spiritual people as wolves in disguise, narcissistic abusive relationships and the violence of pharmaceuticals on our natural womb intelligence - the good news is that we CAN heal and our body / spirit DOES have the power to heal naturally!
So if you have encountered anything recent or are simply aware of past experiences that need to be cleansed, or are looking to positively reconnect with the power of your womb, these short points will help you.
Healing is both a long-term and short-term activity. And you can start at anytime and see the results. Whilst self-healing is definitely effective, sometimes we do need external support and even in those avenues there are extreme forms of deception so I will be covering external sources of support for healing womb trauma in a separate article.
These are all short points and deserve an article for each of them, but let’s cover them generally to get started.
Conscious womb breathing
The first and most simple point here is using the magical healing properties of the breath. Everything in this universe is alive based on pranic life force energy or Qi in traditional Chinese medicine. The breath is one of the single most powerful tools we have to direct healing energy to any part of our being.
Many diseases can be cured through conscious breathing; likewise, conscious breathing can help you both process trauma out of your system and allow the natural healing power of your body to do its work.
Simply place your hands on your womb. Notice how you feel, are you scared? Do you feel shame, guilt or resistance. These are all signs that you are holding trauma in your womb. When a person undergoes abuse, the nervous system goes into a state of shock and even holds trauma until it is processed out. This CANNOT be dealt with using pills or artificial chemicals, distractions like alcohol or anything that is distracting us from our own healing.
After placing your hands, imagine breathing a pure celestial healing white light into your womb space. Visualise completely that this white light is filling up this region and cleansing you. If you already have heightened awareness, you may notice colours or energetic blockages. Trauma also shows up as energetic blockages. As you breathe, you can also repeat calming affirmations like “it is safe to exist in my body,” “I trust the divine intelligence of my womb” etc. Affirmations help you reprogram your subconscious mind and shift your karmic patterns. Make sure your breathing is slow and deep, the slower is your breath the more deeper the concentration and channel of healing.Yoga for the womb
Although the modern world has reduced yoga to simply postures, the science of Yog or union in Vedic Hindu scriptures is very vast. There are many asanas that you can practice specifically for healing the womb. The chakra that is connected to the womb is primarily the Sacral or Swadhisthan chakra, although all of our energy centres are interlinked. The colour of this chakra is orange and the beej mantra is Vam. Simply search for authentic sources / videos for simple postures you can do every day for womb healing. Make sure you have a proper guide.Natural herbs for womb healing
Plants are powerful and they have been placed here for a reason. A lot of people say ‘why do you need external substances if you can be enlightened with meditation’ but neither do these people have the slightest knowledge of plant medicines, nor indigenous healing systems; in fact that is a reflection of colonisation. Taking the extreme case of addiction to recreational drugs is not even 2%, when the other 98% of healing truth is left unacknowledged. So putting aside the case of addictions or misuse of plants and compounds; one has to self-educate on how to use plants for healing as well as consult authentic sources.
One of the strongest plants for healing pain, and even traumatic patterning on a deeper level is Vijaya or cannabis. This is one of my number one medicines during period pains or anything else. You can check a real Ayurvedic source here atIndia Hemp Organics for both extract as well as topical application with my discount code ‘kamya10’ which will give you 10% off. They will also consult you.
Apart from this, other healing herbs for the womb include chamomile, blue lotus flower, hibiscus is a very sacred flower for womb healing, butterfly pea flower, and many others. A separate guide will be shared on that shortly! As well as how you can most effectively use these plants for healing.Getting in touch with your menstrual cycle
Yes, yes and yes. Coming into deeper touch with your menstrual cycle is one of the most powerful things you can do in order to heal. The menstrual cycle according to Vedic scriptures last for 3 days at it’s peak, after which we take a head bath and resume our normal activities.
What does getting in touch with your cycle look like? Well it looks like giving respect and rest to your body. It means being kind to your body and repatterining trust in your cycle. If you have issues with your cycle, cramps, irregular periods, PCOS, PCOD and any womb related issue; you can be sure the root of that is both in the mind and the energy body. There are a number of healing practices that you can do to naturally uplift yourself during that time.Connecting to the power of nature
Your natural ability to connect to nature makes you powerful, but we have forgotten that. So how do you reconnect? Being outside is of course, deeply healing. Taking out even five minutes of your day to stand barefoot in the grass and ask Mother Earth to take away your trauma. Similarly to hug trees helps to regulate your biomagnetic field and heal your heart chakra. If this seems stupid, go and try it out and practice over a period of time, and you will feel lighter. We must always remember in our artificial lives that one of the GREATEST transmuters of energy is nature.
The second part is actively working with nature, with your own spiritual ability. The world around us is made of five elements, the same five elements that make up our body. The smallest effort to reconnect to our spirit, for example, blessing our water before we drink it - is a practice in reclaiming our power. Even for five seconds, to bless your water, reawakens that dormant magical intelligence within. Similarly with all the elements.Use the power of the moon cycles
Healing your womb is intricately connected to the moon. During a full moon, the natural healing energy is at its peak and hence doing specific rituals to reconnect are highly effective. One example is offering Arghya or water, to the moon during Purnima (full moon). In this, you simply have to take a copper vessel, fill it with water and offer it to the full moon chanting ‘Aum Som Somaya Namah.’
The topic of moon energy is vast enough to write a book, so remember that every little effort counts. Your whole being is related, and the root of all your problems can be found in your subconscious mind. That’s why it’s so important to practice things like journalling, self-forgiveness, self love and use the moon cycles to transmute heavy, trauma rooted energy.Find supportive spiritual practices / community to shift trauma
In all honesty, this journal of self-healing can be very isolating. Having a conscious community (that does not mean religious, political or any of those third dimensional views on life), is paramount. Conscious community is simply a supportive community where you have the space to heal, around people who understand these concepts such as shadow work, space holding and so forth. There are many shadows in the new age community but overall, it is priceless in many ways.
Some examples of supportive spiritual practices include womb focused meditation, somatic therapies, Qi Gong, sound healing, acupressure and so forth. Since there are more than we can describe, take some time to research what kind of practices most support you. You DON’T need to make spirituality a very serious thing about doing rituals and dharma. I am very much serious about my own dharma but the fact is I am far MORE than my dharma, dharmic identity, and ultimately each person is an soul so take time to explore yourself. I can tell you now even doing sadhana for 35 years is not going to solve your problems if you don’t explore inwards. Sadhana is for the sake of sadhana, it intersects but healing is for the sake of healing and is for YOU. There is great value in combining new age and ancient traditions. And within the new age, most of the things are rooted in ancient science, when authentic.
