Why do we need dharmic entrepreneurship?
Saving our ancient civilisation and how dharma uplifts global consciousness
This article will be in two parts:
What do we need to save our ancient Vedic civilisation, which is the last living civilisation on earth, in a financially sustainable way?
How do the sacred traditions of Sanatan Dharma uplift global consciousness and help us create a better planet?
Vedic civilisation, colonisation and awakening
The Vedic civilisation is the last ancient living civilisation on earth. It was in 2020 that I realised that our civilisation was in a crisis - starting with the complete denial of our indigenous history in our own land and extensive persecution. The day by day erasure of our ancient languages and lineages, traditions and knowledge systems.
And the thing with any sort of awakening, be it spiritual or civilisational, is that it comes by the direction of the divine. And through virtue of that awakening, we are able to create awakening for others and also liberate ourselves from bondage.
It took 4 years of introspection, activism, controversy and my on-going travel journey to make sense of this whole paradigm we call the Indic movement.
So what exactly is this movement?
Well, this is nothing but the kicking in of the survival instinct that if we don’t so something to contribute to our ancient origins, it is going to be wiped out like all the ancient civilisations of the planet that have been colonised and converted to modern religion. It is also the SIMULTANEOUS realisation that Sanatan Dharma leads us to liberation and reclaiming our ancestral traditions and knowledge is crucial to uplift us out of suffering but also to solve the global planetary crisis we are as well.
Whilst there is now a rapid growth in Indic consciousness, with so many acclaimed authors, social media activists (including the nonsensical ones), and even online educators which is my realm - WE ARE MISSING ONE KEY THING IN THIS MOVEMENT.
And that thing is sustainability.
I spent a lot of time engrossed in social activism, be it online or in the efforts to create community on ground - and found myself completely drained. Neither was activism financially sustainable nor was I satisfied because I knew impact had to be larger.
If we are to TRULY contribute to our Vedic civilisation so that it survives, we need to be empowering individuals to find financially sustainable ways of giving back to the cause, with a solid understanding of what issues we face and how to create impact that is authentically rooted in our traditions, and not just the surface.
What we also need to understand is that Sanatan Dharma is a real living civilisation that exists due to the sacrifices of our ancestors - but also a consciousness.
And the CONSCIOUSNESS of Sanatan Dharma needs to enter the realm of self starters, activists and entrepreneurs far beyond a political or intellectual level.
This means that we first have to shift our own consciousness and reclaim our traditions in practical life.
Saving civilisation is as much of a practical empowerment work as it is a self-reclamation of who we really are.
This is where the idea of Dharmic Entrepreneurship comes in.
How can we develop financially sustainable ways to give back to the ancient traditions AND how can our dharmic knowledge inform conscious, karmically beneficial business that create worldwide upliftment? This is what I share in my workshop (details at end of this post, June 2nd 11-1pm, please scroll or see my Instagram highlights on @iamkamyabuch).
Why is dharma needed for the world at large?
We already know capitalism is in crisis.
Be it the rapid environmental degradation of our planet, skyrocketing chronic illness, pharmaceutical dependency, let’s not even get started on the globalist elites. The world is seeking change and this change is happening by itself.
There has never been a stronger interest in spiritual healing systems, mindfulness, natural medicine and ancient cultures as the West are seeing their false, artificial world crumble in front of their eyes. What we call new age spirituality is now a multi-billion (yes, billion) dollar industry. Yet even within this sphere, there is a lot of imbalance. From cultural appropriation to ignorance of the world’s larger crises.
The fundamental reason Sanatan Dharma is needed for the world at large is because every single problem in the modern world has its root in disconnection from nature, from our source and ancient origins.
And indeed, the ancient wisdom of Sanatan Dharma has direct practical application to everything from curing the ecological crisis, developing sustainable farming methods, natural method, conscious economy, building a stable life and using the material world as a vehicle for uplifting the planet at large.
The world is already reaching towards ancient systems to inform everything from technological progress to mental health - and there’s where our work is.
One of the biggest gaps we face is between the modern world and the authentic indigenous traditions of Sanatan Dharma beyond politics, spiritual bubbles or conventional education. There is demand for our knowledge systems in every sphere and there is a massive opportunity for anyone who ventures into it.
What is dharmic entrepreneurship?
And that is my vision of dharmic entrepreneurship. Building products and services that give back to our ancient origins in a well researched and authentic way, to the areas that are in need of support. Creating financially sustainable ways to give back that also empower you to live according to your own autonomy and freedom.
Because I’ve done enough activism to know that it is not virtuous to work for any social cause from the stance of suffering. We don’t need to come from an unhealed, traumatised and reactive place for the sake of any outside cause.
prasanna vadanam dhyāyēt sarva vighnōpaśāntayē
loose translation: inner happiness is the key to overcoming all obstacles.
When I translate this to my own life, that was the main reason I chose to quit the matrix world in 2016 and embark on this travelling journey. A digital nomad is someone who works from their laptop on their own terms; for me, it’s now been 7 years being a full time digital nomad, content creator and online educator.
Making positive impact is not just about an outside cause. It’s about being able to create a lifestyle that gives you freedom and inner fulfilment.
And that’s what I share with you this Sunday June 2nd, 11am - 1pm, learn how to start your dharmic visionary and entrepreneurship journey!
